Majority of Facebook activities carried out by minor group of 'power users'

London, Feb 4 (ANI): A small group of users on Facebook perform majority of activities on the social networking site, a new research has revealed.
The new study entitled, 'Why Most Facebook Users Get More Than They Give', from Pew Internet, an American not-for-profit research firm, revealed that only 20-30 per cent of Facebook's 843 million users are deemed 'power users', the most active on the social networking site.
The study revealed that most Facebook users are moderately active over a one month time period, so highly active power users skew the average.
Secondly, these power users constitute about 20 per cent to 30 per cent of Facebook users, but the striking thing is that there are different power users depending on the activity in question.

Yuvraj Singh diagnosed with Grade I cancer!

New Delhi, Feb.5 (ANI): Cricket all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been diagnosed with Grade I cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy in the United States.
A tumour on his lung was diagnosed as non-malignant late last year, but his physiotherapist, Dr Jatin Chaudhary, said it was cancerous but "100% curable".
He said that he expected Yuvraj to be fit to play by May this year.
"It is a rare tumour and is cancerous but it has been detected in stage 1 itself (Stage 0 refers to cancer that is just beginning, while stages 1 to 4 are progressively more advanced cancers)," Dr. Chaudhary said.
"Doctors had to decide whether to continue medication or go for chemotherapy but since parts of the tumour are just above the artery of his

Soon, virtual reality contact lenses to offer 3D panorama!

Washington, Feb 4 (ANI): Contact lenses, which are being designed by scientists using military funding, help enhance normal vision with megapixel 3D panoramic images.
The researchers added that for those who do not want to rely on contact lenses, future versions could involve lenses directly implanted within the eye.
Now, researchers from Washington-based company Innovega, funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the National Science Foundation, are developing novel contact lenses that can help view tiny full-colour megapixel displays.
"Over the past months, we have demonstrated contact lens-enabled eyewear for mobile devices, including smart phones, portable game devices and media players that deliver panoramic, high-resolution experiences for entertainment and planned augmented reality applications,"

Who knew? Red wine not heart-friendly, after all!

If you have a glass of red every night, here’s a new study

that says you shouldn't.

Remember being told that a glass of wine everyday is not just 'not unhealthy', but also an elixir that can do wonders to your heart's health? Turns out there's not much truth in it after all.
A recent damning report suggests that all the years of research that proved that red wine is a heart-friendly drink is based on fabricated reports. Resveratrol, an antioxidant found in large amounts in red grapes, and hence red wine, was touted to be a miracle discovery.

Wah Taj! An everlasting romance!

Every young wife dreams of a romantic fairytale photo in front of the Taj Mahal.

The enchanting Taj Mahal

I grew up in various parts of the country, but never got a chance to visit Delhi or any of the neighboring cities and sights. When a remote chance came up, I jumped at it and within minutes, convinced the husband to take a break to visit north India. After extensive research and innumerable calls with the travel agent for close to 3 weeks, the itinerary was finalized, tickets booked, and bags packed.

Each day I would wake and chant "Taj Taj Taj Taj" just to make the day move faster. Almost everyone I know had been to the Taj and has the customary snap on the marble bench. The bench, apparently, is called 'celebrity bench'. I would look at them enviously, longing to have one taken as well. I could not wait to get mine done and show it off.

Rupee up on inflows; US jobs data eyed!

Mumbai: The rupee rose on Friday, supported by dollar inflows, although choppy local shares and cautious sentiment across world financial markets ahead of key US jobs data capped major gains in the local currency.

At 10:52 am, the rupee was 49.07/08 to the dollar, stronger than Thursday’s close of 49.15/16. It has moved in a band of 49.0700 to 49.2000 so far in the session.

“Market will remain subdued as the US jobs data are crucial for understanding global growth trajectory. A good number will trigger a risk rally, while a bad one could push us into a risk off situation,” said a senior foreign exchange dealer at a large private-sector bank.
Asian shares and the euro fell on Friday as caution set in ahead of the US data, while Greek debt restructuring talks dragged on and undermined sentiment.
