Toshiba announced new storage device with 1 TB thin and smart hard drive

Toshiba announced new storage device with 1 TB thin and smart hard drive
Toshiba has pulled the wraps off a new storage device in the form of a incredibly thin and smart hard drive. The hard drive is the MQ02ABF and the thin storage device was made specifically for thin laptops. The good news about this product for your average consumer is that it means you’ll be able to get incredibly thin laptops at lower prices because you can opt for this thin hard drive rather than a more expensive SSD, and get more storage space.
Toshiba says that this new drive is its the first two platter 7 mm thick hard drive and the drive is available in up to 1 TeraByte capacity. Toshiba also makes a 750 GB version and both versions have a pair of platters inside. Both versions of the drive also feature four heads and an average seek time of 12ms. The drive spins 5400 RPM and uses a standard SATA interface.
Overall dimensions of the hard drive are 69.85 mm x 100 mm x 7.0 mm in the driveways 99 g. Those compact dimensions give the drive a standard 2.5-inch form factor in a very thin drive capable of fitting inside the latest thin and light notebooks out there. There’s no word on when machines using this new drive might come to market.

Public Broadcasting Service available on the Xbox 360

Public Broadcasting Service available on the Xbox 360
America’s Public Broadcasting Service is now available on the Xbox 360, where you can now watch PBS content whenever you like. Like most streaming video applications on the Xbox 360, you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to watch PBS content.
The PBS app includes new and previously released shows. Shows like NOVA, American Experience, Secrets of the Dead, Austin City Limits and everyone’s favorite Downton Abbey. You will have full-length episodes of PBS shows, plus you can also watch clips from the channel’s popular shows and web-original video from PBS Digital Studios. What? No Sesame Street?
That’s one I was really hoping to catch up on. There is no better crime drama featuring puppets. Just joking of course. If you have kids, don’t worry. I’m sure they are offering this one as well. However, they don’t mention this one by name. This is great news for those of us who love PBS.

Space tourism will sent you 100,000 feet up to view the world!

Space tourism will sent you 100,000 feet up to view the world!
World View is a new form of space tourism that will sent you 100,000 feet up in the air by balloon, a trip is this new space balloon will set you back around $75,000 US dollars. The project is in the start up stages at the moment, and the project is being run by Paragon Space Development Corp., who intend to build the balloon and the capsule that you can see in the photo and video below.
The first paid flights in the World View space balloon will not take place until 2016, although it could be later than this depending on testing and when the various regulatory guidelines are met. The World View spaceflight experience will begin with a gentle ride in the comfort of a luxuriously appointed space-qualified capsule, lifted by a high altitude balloon to 30 km. There, passengers will remain aloft for approximately two hours before gliding back to Earth.
Passengers will be among the few to have seen the curvature of the Earth with their own eyes. They will be able to gaze at the astounding views, the blackness of space, the brilliance of stars and the thin veil of atmosphere enveloping our planet – scenes previously witnessed exclusively by astronauts – for $75,000.
It certainly sounds very interesting, although we doubt many people will be able to afford the $75,000 price tag, it will probably take a few years before this sort of space travel becomes more affordable.
