GTA 5 enters the UK charts at number one
On the weekend we heard that GTA 5 was the fastest selling game, achieving over $1 billion in revenue in just a few days, and now GTA 5 has taken the top spot in the UK games chart.

GTA 5 entered the UK games charts at number one, and the game has sold more copies in the first week, than all of the previous GTA games combined.

GTA has also beaten the previous record holder Call Of Duty: Black Opps, as GTA 5 managed to sell 250,000 more copies in its first week.

Microsoft Windows 8.1 is set to cost £75 in UK

Microsoft Windows 8.1 is set to cost £75 in UK
Microsoft has confirmed prices for the next generation of Windows. Windows 8.1 is set to cost £75 for the latest update, or £125 for the professional version -- unless you're already running Windows 8, in which case it's free.
The first major update to the latest version of Windows hits computers around the world from noon on 17 October. If you buy a new computer or laptop with Windows from 18 October, you'll find the new software is already in place. If you already have Windows 8's colourful squares on your PC, it's a free update. And upgrading from the standard version to Windows 8.1 Pro costs £62.
Windows 8.1, codenamed 'Windows Blue' in the run-up to release, is designed to pull back from some of the more controversial aspects of Windows 8. The Start menu is reinstated to the bottom-left of the desktop, although the included options and shortcuts aren't quite the same as the familiar Start button from previous versions.
You can also boot straight to the Windows desktop, cutting out the bold new look for the front page. For more features that will arrive in Windows 8.1, check out our handy photo gallery.
Are you using Windows 8? Is Windows 8.1 just the change you're looking for? Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook wall.

Opening Weekend iPhone 5s Outsells morethan 5c

Opening Weekend iPhone 5s Outsells morethan 5c
Apple just announced that they sold a total of 9 million iPhone’s last weekend, although they did not gove a break down of how many of each model they have sold.

Now according to a recent report, the iPhone 5S is outselling the iPhone 5C by three to one, or to be specific for every 1 iPhone 5C sold, 3.4 iPhone 5S units are sold.

In less than 3 days, the iPhone 5s and 5c combined now represent about 1.36% of the total numbers of all iPhones activated in the U.S. market across the top 4 carriers AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile. From the data we are seeing, 1.05% of all iPhones in the United States are now iPhone 5s and just 0.31% are iPhone 5c. That means that the iPhone 5s outshines the 5c by a factor of 3.4x, a clear indicator that the early adopters are favoring the high-end 5s compared to 5c. This makes sense since those who feel the need to buy a new device the very weekend it launches are most likely the power users who want the highest-end phone experience..

This would mean that based on these estimates, Apple sold a total f 6 million iPhone 5S handsets and 3 million iPhone 5C handsets.

Valve Teases Steam Box hits on Monday

Valve Teases Steam Box hits on Monday
Valve has been teasing an announcement that could be made today having to do with its Steam Box. The Steam Box is expected to be a hardware device designed specifically to play games downloaded off the Steam online store. No official announcement for the Steam Box has been made as of yet

The device is expected to be a PC that plugs into the TV offering Windows or Linux operating systems. Steam began setting up their entry into the hardware market last year when they launched Big Picture mode making it easy to play PC games on a big-screen TV in the living room.

If Valve does launch a Steam Box, it will certainly have some stiff competition. We have new versions of the Xbox and PlayStation coming this year and existing versions of those devices are very popular. The PC gaming faithful may be very interested device allowing them to play their favorite computer games on the TV without having to put an actual PC into their entertainment center.

Final Fantasy XIV upcoming new dungeons and PvP arena

Final Fantasy XIV upcoming new dungeons and PvP arena
The launch of Final Fantasy XIV didn’t exactly go as planned for Square Enix. The game suffered from several server issues that prevented some gamers from being able to play. The server issues were fixed and the free trial was extended as a sort of apology. The game will soon receive its first official patch.

The first patch adds several new features including player housing, new dungeons, and a new PvP arena. The tips about the new content from the patch came from game director Naoki Yoshida during a panel at the Tokyo Game Show. Among the new dungeons coming in the patch is one called the Crystal Tower.

The tower gets inspiration from the same area in the Final Fantasy III game. Players looking to take on this new dungeon will need 24 players. The update brings player housing to all three city states. Players will also be able to use 380 decorative items to customize their home in the game.

The new PvP arena in the game is called The Wolves’ Den. Players will combat in the arena with two teams of four battling it out. Along with announcing the first patch and some of the details about it also comes some statistics on how many players have played the game since it relaunched on August 28. There’ve been over 1,080,000 unique logins since the game launched with an average of 617,000 logins daily. This game franchise is one of the most popular in all of gaming and the new patch will help the latest entry in the franchise continue to grow.
