Gadget reviews: Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet Review!

With their virtual keyboards and focus on media consumption, most tablets appeal more to couch-cruising consumers than professionals looking to get some work done. Built for productivity, the ThinkPad Tablet breaks the slate mold by providing first-rate digital pen support, business-friendly

software, a durable design, and plentiful ports. With a starting price of Rs 22,500, Lenovo's first Think-branded Android slate isn't perfect, but it is the best content creation tablet on the market.
The ThinkPad Tablet breaks the slate mold by providing first-rate digital pen support, business-friendly software, a durable design, and plentiful ports.

Design
The ThinkPad Tablet incorporates the same raven-black aesthetic we've come to know and love in Lenovo's ThinkPad business notebooks. Made from Corning's scratch- and break-resistant Gorilla Glass, the glossy screen is surrounded by a thin black bezel emblazoned with light gray ThinkPad and Lenovo logos. At the bottom of the front bezel sit four physical buttons with functions like auto rotate on/off, web browser, back, and home. Too bad the buttons are stiff; we found them more difficult to press than we'd like.
The rubberized back and sides reminded us of the sleek sof-ttouch lids we've seen on notebooks like the ThinkPad T series. The back panel features a silver ThinkPad

Gadget reviews: Samsung Galaxy Note Review!

When Apple launched they iPad, they positioned it as a device meant to fill the gaping chasm between the smartphone and the notebook. However, some people thought that a 10-inch device would be too big to carry around so manufacturers started coming up with 7-inch tablets. But then someone thought even that was too big. That someone was Dell, who then went ahead and launched the Streak 5.
Unfortunately for Dell, the Streak 5 was not just big in size but also a big failure. Dell’s lack of reputation for making quality smartphones coupled with the fact that the Streak 5 was actually a pretty mediocre device resulted in the company abandoning it a few months later.

Now Samsung is trying to revive the 5-inch tablet segment with their Galaxy Note. Unlike Dell, however, Samsung has positioned the Galaxy Note as a large smartphone, rather than a small tablet. Also, unlike Dell, Samsung has a massive fan following in the smartphone segment and on paper at least the Galaxy Note looks promising. It is essentially a big Galaxy S II. How can anyone go wrong with that? But is the Galaxy Note really a great product? Let’s find out.

Rural India loses steam: Demand for tractors, agriculture machinery, durables decline as income falls, prices rise!

MUMBAI | NEW DELHI: In 2007, 27-year-old Kaushalendra from Bihar shunned the placement frenzy, which would see many of his colleagues earn fat salaries, in favour of a more homespun alternative: Selling fresh vegetables on a push cart to residents of his hometown Nalanda.

Putting together whatever money he had, Kaushalendra began the venture in 2008 and soon started doing well. People didn't mind paying a little more if they saw value in it and despite the global financial crisis, the rural economy was doing well. Four years on, it is a different story. "Forget about the premium products, people have stopped buying our fresh vegetables and are happy with cheaper goods," he says.

Far away in Nashik, Maharashtra, transport operator Faruk Pathan is rueing his misfortune as he contemplates his now-depleted line of trucks. Last year, he used to do 80 trips a month carrying vegetables to Gujarat. That number has now come down to 18-20. "I had to cancel my plan of purchasing two new trucks and instead sold four trucks as they were just standing idle. I had to prepay my debt," Faruk says.

As the UPA government prepares to present the most crucial budget of its second tenure, it is facing a slowdown across vast parts of rural India. Falling prices may be a boon for consumers, but it can mean lower income and less money to spend on the local theatre, eatery and nearby bazaar for farmers, agri labourers and others dependent on agriculture. In the past three months, prices of many agricultural products have crashed,
