Netflix announced updated version for iPhone and iPad users

Netflix announced updated version for iPhone and iPad users
Netflix has announced that it has launched an updated version of its application for iPhone and iPad users. The updated version of the app is specifically for users of devices running iOS 7 and brings the Netflix app to version 5.0. The updated app brings with it some very appealing new features.
One new feature for the iPhone and iPad that the app brings is full HD resolution streaming to iOS 7 users. The app also now supports AirPlay streaming of content between the tablet or smartphone and an Apple TV device.
I can only think of one instance where you might want to use AirPlay streaming rather than the Apple TV’s own Netflix app. I can see that feature being useful if you wanted to stream content from your smartphone to the Apple TV device of a friend who doesn’t have a Netflix account. The app is available to download right now.

Cord management products hits Kickstarter

Cord management products hits Kickstarter
It’s a big pain in the butt keeping cords tangle free and secure when you’re on the road or when you store cords in your desk. My cords inevitably come out of the desk in one massive tangle along with pens and other things that happen to be in the drawer. If you like to have highly organized cables, you might appreciate this Kickstarter campaign for three different cord management products.
The cord management products include the Cord Taco, Cordito, and Cordlupa. The Cord Taco is designed as a leather circle with a snap that you wrap around the cable in but not to keep the cable tidy and neat. The Cordito is a larger leather sleeve is designed to hold three cables inside.
The last product is the Cordlupa which is a short belt-like leather strap that wraps around things such as power supplies to keep the cables in place. The project was seeking $15,000 and has raised $21,676 with 11 days to go. A pledge of seven dollars or more will get you a single Cord Taco. If you want all of the devices you need to pledge $75 for more to get the Cord Suite giving you five of the Cord Tocco’s and one each of the Cordito and Cordlupa.

iFixit team teardown new Kindle Fire HD 2013 edition

iFixit team teardown new Kindle Fire HD 2013 edition
The iFixit team has been busy this week completing a teardown of the new Kindle Fire HD 2013 edition and have awarded the tablet an 8 out of 10. 10 being the easiest to repair.
iFixit found that the simplistic, modular design of the Kindle Fire HD 2013 means the few components that might fail can be easily, inexpensively replaced which is always good to know.
However on the down side the glass panel is glued to the front plastic frame, so a heat gun will be required for replacing cracked glass or you have to replace both components together, says iFixit.
Also a large amount of adhesive has been used on the battery, meaning some prying and gentle working is required for disassembly. For the full Kindle Fire HD 2013 teardown By iFixit jump over to their official website here.
