"Instagram meets Pinterest, resulting in Pinstagram!"

It had to happen. In this day and age of Internet mashups, it should come as no surprise to anyone that two geeky photo enthusiasts have managed to marry the two most popular
photography apps available on the Interwebs today. Meet Pinstagram – the aesthetically pleasing love child of Pinterest and Instagram.
The idea for Pinstagram was hatched by Pek Pongpaet and Brandon Leonardo. In the descriptor on their site they say, “Pinstagram was created by Pek Pongpaet and Brandon Leonardo as a weekend project. The two were jokingly throwing around ideas and thought a Pinterest for Instagram would be a funny concept. What would happen if you combined the two of the fastest growing, and hottest web properties?
Pinstagram allows users to connect their Instagram accounts to the service, after which you view your photo stream in the waterfall layout Pinterest is known for. You can like and comment on photos, as in the Instagram app. At the same time, you can pin photos to your Pinterest inboards.
In an interview with Mashable, co-founder Pek Pongpaet said he felt that “Pinstagram fills a big void in the Instagram ecosystem — an easy way to browse your photos on a desktop browser.”
And though it may have ‘begun as a joke’, Pinstagram is getting rave reviews across the web. Tech site Memeburncalled it “the most awesome mashup ever” while theHuffington Post said it was “pretty cool”.
Ina quick review of the service Mashable says, “Now in its second week, the site still has some glitches — the “Sign in with Instagram” button didn’t work the first few times we tried logging in. Still, don’t expect this to be the last you see from Pinstagram. Pek can see iPad and desktop apps coming in the future”
Well then Pinterest/Pinstagram enthusiasts… what are you waiting for??
