Today Google has announced a new update for their Gmail service that will make a majority of Gmail users smile with joy, and has been a top request by uses for some time.

The new update being released by Google for their Gmail, brings with it a new features that expands the search facility with Gmail to now allow users to search through mail attachments as well as regular mail.

The new attachments search feature works within PDF files, Microsoft .doc and .ppt files, as well as older attachments that might not even be indexed as yet, says the Google Operating system website. To use the new search facility simple type in the following commands in to the search box:

“To find messages that have attachments, search for has:attachment and add some keywords to your query. To restrict your search to PDF files, search for has:attachment filename:pdf.”
