"WANNA know how to not lose your mobile phone?"


Lookout study reveals when and where people lose their mobile phones
  • Most phones go missing between 9pm and 2am 
  • $4 million worth of phones lost in Sydney in 2011
  • Most common place to lose it is in a coffee shop

Almost $7 billion worth of phones are lost around the world each day, according to Lookout. 

WANNA know how to not lose your mobile phone?

Don't let it out of your sight from 9pm and 2am and don't take it with you to a coffee shop, says a new survey.

According to mobile security company Lookout, almost $7 million worth of mobile phones are lost around the world each day.

Last year almost $4 million worth of phones were lost in Sydney alone, according to the Mobile Lost & Found survey.

The global study found the most common places to lose your phone in Sydney is in a coffee shop, a church and a car repair shop. The data also revealed people in Sydney lose their phone once every two years.

But people in Manchester lose their phones more than anyone in the world.
Of the phones that go missing, two out of three disappear between 9pm and 2am, and four phones are lost each day at Niagara Falls.

Lookout analysed data from their 15 million users who had used the company’s application to locate their lost or stolen devices in 2011.
