"Dear Siri, meet your Indian counterpart Aisha"

Siri, the legendary voice assistant of Apple’s iPhone 4s, now has an Indian counterpart – the charmingly named Aisha. Unlike Siri however, Aisha comes at a much lower price range as it (she?) will be available on the newly launched Micromax A50 Ninja available for just Rs. 4,999.

The Ninja smartphone was launched on Friday, and apart from Aisha (Which incidentally stands for Artificial Intelligence Speech Handset Assistant) it boasts features such as an Android Gingerbread OS, dual-SIM and a processor speed of 650. The phone also features a 3.1-inch capacitive touch screen, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS connectivity, Bluetooth, 2MP Rear Camera. Gravity Sensor and Memory storage capacity expandable up to 32GB.
According to Tech2.in, Aisha can translate words into action. It says,

The users can connect with the people, businesses and activities that are important to them with AISHA if they need to check the weather conditions and for example all they just need to ask is ‘What is the weather in Delhi’ and AISHA will respond saying ‘The weather will be sunny.’ To start using AISHA, an internet connection and a Google account is required. Once the internet connection has been configured on the phone, just tap on Aisha to bring up the Aisha interactive screen and you can start issuing voice commands
Through the voice recognition tool, users can also initiate a Google search, view stock market details, make calls, read news about desired locations, view horoscopes, make language translations and also view recipes.
Aisha can also help users send messages, inquire about missed calls and make queries on varied subjects such as date and time, weather conditions, and even general knowledge.
