"Facebook launch Anti-virus Marketplace, offering users free security software"

TIRED of getting spammed by hoax links, malware and scams on Facebook?
No?

Well, somebody is, because the tech giant has seen fit to launch an anti-virus protection program that will protect all of its users from malicious online threats.

Facebook today launched the “Anti-virus Marketplace” and is encouraging users to download anti-malware programs from the world’s leading security companies such as McAfee, Microsoft, TrendMicro, Sophos and Symantec.

The good news is they will be able to use the software for free over the next six months.
After that time users will be charged to use the program, but at this point it is unclear how much you’ll pay.

Facebook are also incorporating the companies’ threat databases into their existing URL blacklist, which locates and deletes malicious and spam links and pages from the site.
