Windows Phone 8 SDK Opens September 12th

It was previously thought that Microsoft would open their Windows Phone 8 SDK to developers on September 7th. However Microsoft has today announced that developers will be able to sign-up for inclusion in the Windows Phone 8 SDK programme from next week.

Some selected partners and developers have already had a chance to experience the new Windows Phone 8 SDK, but next wednesday Microsoft will release detailed instructions on how current Windows Phone developers with published apps can apply.
Microsoft explained that access to the program will be limited at first, but the full Windows Phone 8 SDK will be made publicly available later this year, when Microsoft has unveiled it new Windows 8 operating system.
Microsoft’s Todd Brix explains: “Today I’m happy to announce that the time has come to make the near-final kit available to more developers through the Windows Phone 8 SDK Preview Program.”-”The full Windows Phone 8 SDK will be made publically available later this year when we unveil Windows Phone 8.”
