4G LTE now available on Mount Everest

Mount EverestIf you are planning on visiting Mount Everest soon, the world’s highest peak won’t be the only thing you find there. You will also have access to 4G LTE cellular connectivity. That’s right, there’s LTE on Mount Everest now. Not sure we need it there, but that’s where you will find it.

Huawei and China Mobile deployed their 4G LTE towers at the Mount Everest base camp, located at an altitude of 5200 meters above sea level. At a ceremony to commemorate the event, the two companies demonstrated their infrastructure’s capabilities in front of about 200 guests, who witnessed video being streamed live in HD over LTE straight from the Everest base camp.
Well, at least you will have live HD streaming available while you climb. Pay attention now.
