Steam For Linux Entering Private Beta In October

Linux users who are looking forward to the arrival of Valve’s Steam gaming network on to the Linux platform. Might be pleased to learn that Valve is going to start a closed Linux beta development stage next month that will see a 1,000 users put the new software through its paces.

In a blog post published today Valve says that development for the Linux version of Steam is going well, and that the beta development stage will commence next week for a 1,000 luck users.

The Steam for Linux beta test will support Ubuntu 12.04 and above and include on Valve game, but will not feaure Big Picture mode or additional valve games. For more information jump over to the Valve Linux blog for details.
