A production ready Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive supercar has been unveiled this week at the Paris Automative Show 2012, and is described as the world’s most powerful series production electric car.

The newly unveiled SLS AMG Electric Drive supercar created by Mercedes-Benz might be the most powerful electric production car but it also sports a massive $500,000 price tag to match.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive supercar is equipped with four synchronous electric motors with one position on each wheel, providing the car with permanent four wheel drive.
Delivering a massive 740 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, which equates to a whopping 177hp and 259 lb-ft more than the 6.2-liter V8 in the standard SLS AMG series.
Mercedes-Benz say the SLS AMG Electric Drive sports car will reach 62 mph from standstill in 3.9 seconds, which when compared to the petrol SLS AMG is only one tenth of a second slower. For more information jump over to the Autoweek website for full specifications.
