Micro-blogging site, Twitter has now launched a newsletter service for users, who will get an email with the best stories/tweets from past week. Twitter announced the latest updates in its blogpost, saying,

This summary features the most relevant Tweets and stories shared by the people you’re connected to on Twitter. Stories feature a design similar to the recently updated Discover tab, emphasizing who shared each story beneath summaries to help you decide which ones matter most to you. Click any headline to finish reading the story, add your take by tweeting directly from the email, and see related Tweets from the people you follow.

Twitter new inbox ‘newsletter’ will help users find the most engaging tweets seen by the people they follow. Users will be able to read the engaging tweet, even if they don’t follow the user who posted it.

The e-mail service will be rolled out to everyone over the next few weeks. Users can customise the settings of the e-mail digest from the Notifications Settings on their Twitter page.

Not only Twitter but earlier this year Google plus had started sending users top content from Google plus which included links shared by friends who are in a users’ circle and other content that was trending on Google plus.

The problem with newsletters is that they often end up in trash or remain unopened.

However the personalised email might help users get back in touch with Twitter if they’ve not logged in for some weeks. And for die-hard Twitter addicts, this could be a great way to catch on the week’s latest trends.
