"Draw Something goes back to school with iCrayon"


The Draw Something craze that is infecting iPads and smartphones has reached a new high with the release of a Crayola-inspired iPad accessory.
The stylus allows Draw Crayon enthusiasts to gain an edge.
Draw Something, an online version of Pictionary, has had more than 50 million downloads on iPad, iPhone and Android and has held the top spot in the iTunes app store for the five
weeks.

Manufacturers are now trying to cash in on the popularity of the app, with one company releasing a retro stylus for creating drawings in the shape of a Crayola crayon.

The "iCrayon" will allow dedicated Draw Something players to go the extra mile in the game, in which users draw colourful pictures with a partner who has to guess what they are drawing.

The more of the player's pictures that are guessed, the more coins they earn, allowing them to unlock new features for free, so the iCrayon could prove a useful investment - although at £7.99 it is four times more expensive than paying to unlock the extra features.

"For the most imaginative of sketches, sometimes the humble index finger just doesn’t cut it," said Wojtek Kolan, head of business development at thumbsUp!, which sells the iCrayon.

"The iCrayon offers users a bit of precision with their iPad or iPhone - great for ‘touch typing’ or any kind of drawing program - while making them feel satisfyingly old-school.”

The iCrayon, which comes in three different colours for true enthusiasts, will be available in the UK at the end of the month.
