Yahoo domain name auction is expected to be sold for over $1 million

Yahoo domain name auction is expected to be sold for over $1 million
Yahoo has announced that from today until November 21st next week they will be auctioning off a wealth of domain names which the company has purchased in the past but no longer requires. The Yahoo domain name auction listings include some very top level domain names which are expected to be sold for over $1 million.
Yahoo explains in their blog post that they found a huge list of domain names that the company has owned for quite some time , which are now longer required. Yahoo explains:
“As we discussed what to do with them, it became obvious that it was time to set them free…back into the wild of the Internet. Surely, creative people, businesses and entrepreneurs could come up with something great to do with them. They could even spark some brand new ideas or companies.
Tomorrow, we’re starting a week-long auction that includes well over a hundred premium domain names. How premium you ask? How about sandwich.com? That’s a pretty awesome name, and now it’s back on the market!”
Domains being sold in the Yahoo Premium Domain Auction include av.com which is expected to raise between $1 and 1.5 million. Together with webserver.com, voicemail.com, sandwich.com and crackers.com.
