The Asha 501 by Nokia


Asha501
The Asha 501 is one of Nokia’s new set of phones set to launch next week. It’s a great deal different from previous Asha versions and comes with a brand new operating system Nokia has coined “Asha software platform”. Not the most creative name, but the phone is a giant step forward for the Asha series.

The Specifications:
  • - 3-inch screen with 320 x 240 resolution, covered by hardened glass to prevent scratches and cracks
  • - 3.2-megapixel camera with no flash and no front-facing camera
  • - MicroSD storage slot that comes with a 4GB card, but can integrate with a 32GB card to add to an as yet unspecified amount of internal storage
It’s a budget phone that Nokia still has some unveiling to do in the coming days of its launch, but it’s (3.91 x 2.28 x 0.48 in) shaping up to be one of the better phones along the lower-end price range. It’s small at 99.2 x 58 x 12.1 mm and weighs only 98.2 grams (3.46 oz).
The Asha 501 doesn’t come with 3G capabilities, but its new one-swipe OS is sure to turn a few heads towards its direction out of curiosity. The only physical button is an iPhone like home button at the bottom of the frontside of the phone that acts as the usual backbutton we’re all used to.
All in all it looks like a nice phone and well work checking out on May 14th if you find yourself on a tight budget.
