FLIZ Urban Mobility Concept (video)

In a cross between a bike and a scooter the FLIZ urban mobility device provides a very unique way to get around and has no pedals or seat.
The FLIZ Urban transport has been created using a large U shaped frame and a harness that allows you to hang from the FLIZ. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the FLIZ project and see it in action.

“The starting point of the project was to investigate the running machine by Baron Karl von Drais, the ancestor of the bicycle and the inventor of the automobile mobility. We wanted to revive the principle of the wheel and put us on the following issues: “Does the wheel for adults nowadays sense and if so, how and where to find its place?” (“How can people who bike for various reasons not can drive or car), allow a certain degree of mobility “The most natural way to get around – the human gait – we picked up there and today, partially adapted to specific demands mobility.” (translated via Google from the James Dyson Website)
Currently there is only one prototype in production, and is waiting to see if wins the James Dyson Award competition, after which it might jump in to mass production.
