Facebook updates iOS app - Techdigg.com


There may not be any kind of a visual overhaul like they did for Facebook Messages, but Facebook has announced an update for its iOS app. It should deliver some big improvements for users.

The company says that the app was “rebuilt from the ground up,” and that it is now twice as fast as the previous version. Excited yet? Faster is always better right?

That speed includes a faster opening of the app itself, as well as smoother and faster scrolling. In fact photos are said to load “instantly”. These changes are largely due to a switch from the old HTML5 code to iOS’ native programming language, not that we care why. We are just happy it is improved. The update (version 5.0) is available right now.
