"Raspberry Pi Announces Raspbian Wheezy OS Upgrade"

Raspberry Pi
Raspberry Pi have today announced the release of a Raspbian Linux image, which has been created to replaced the recommended Debian squeeze image as the preferred choice of OS for the Raspberry Pi mini PC.

Raspberry Pi has now made the new Raspbian Linux OS available as an SD card image, and if you are already using Debian squeeze, Raspberry Pi recommends you upgrade to the latest Raspbian image to benefit from the performance improvements and new features.

“If you’re just starting out, this is the image we recommend you use. It’s a reference root filesystem from Alex and Dom, based on the Raspbian optimised version of Debian, and containing LXDE, Midori, development tools and example source code for multimedia functions.”

The Raspbian “wheezy” Linux OS for the Raspberry Pi mini computer is now available to download from the Raspberry Pi website.
