" Flipboard beta now available for Android users"

Rumours about a Flipboard app for Android had been doing the round ever since the launch of Samsung Galaxy S III. Now the Flipboard team has finally rolled out the beta version for Android users who had signed up for the app via email.

Flipboard is a news and article aggregator app which is very popular for iPhone and iPad users. The company had announced on Twitter that the app would be coming to Android on the day Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S III. Interested users were directed to a page where they could register their email addresses to get further updates on the status of the app.
Today, Flipboard sent out an email to all users announcing that the beta, aka the testing version was ready. The release of a beta version means the company is still testing the app for final bugs and errors before it finally launches the app on Google’s app market Play.
So here’s you can download the beta version for your phone.
• Go to the security section in your phone settings and allow the installation of apps from unknown sources.
• Click on this link to install the beta. The time to download the link is limited and you might not get the app immediately as there’s a good chance that too many people are trying to get their hands on the app.
• You can send your feedback by going to the About section in the app Settings and then tap the Flipboard logo. You can even send an email at android-feedback@flipboard.com.
For now the app beta is available for download for Android version 2.0 (Froyo) and higher versions. It also seems to be relatively bug-free when going from one article to another and doesn’t seem to be restricted to just Ice-cream Sandwich.
Flipboard was named as Apple’s app of the Year for 2010. The app takes a collection of news, articles, based on themes and lets users literally flip through the article, a page at a time.
