"Asus Padfone Goes Up For Pre-order In Taiwan"

The Asus Padfone was announced at MWC 2012 back in February and the device is supposed to go on sale in the US and Europe some time this month, and now the device has gone up for pre-order in Taiwan and is expected to be available in the country later this month.

The smartphone part of the Padfone device will retail for about $610 in Taiwan and if you buy the full set which include the tablet dock, and the headset and stylus it will retail for a

total of $850, these are the prices in Taiwan at the moment, so they could be different when it lands in the US and Europe.

As a reminder the Asus Padfone combination device which is made up of a smartphone and a tablet, where the smartphone device is docked with the tablet, the tablet can then also be docked with a keyboard.

The smartphone is the device which powers everything and it comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and it is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and also has an Adreno 225 GPU.

The Asus Padfone also comes with an 8 megapixel rear facing camera for photos and video and a front facing VGA camera for video chat, there is also HDMI, GPS, A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0.
