8 smartphones with solid battery life

With most smartphones turning into mini-PCs, the number of hours their battery survives has become important. How else to manage those presentations on the go, update Facebook status messages, watch videos or play with those power-hungry apps? 


While there may be several ways to boost your smartphone's battery life like turning off the Wi-Fi when not required, reducing screen's brightness, there's no substitute to a phone with a sturdy battery life. 


GSMArena recently carried a series of smartphone battery tests. Here are eight smartphones that came out with flying colours in the battery battle.

1. Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX
Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX
Droid Razr Maxx features a 4.3-inch Super Amoled advanced touchscreen display with qHD (960x540) pixel resolution. According to the company, the phone offers a battery life of 21 hours. 


The phone's battery provides a standby time of about 380 hours. It provides 20.5 hours of talk time, 7.5 hours of web browsing and around 14 hours of video playback on a single charge. 



Powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz mobile processor, the phone packs 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Droid Razr Maxx has an 8 megapixel camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera.

2. Samsung Galaxy Note!


Samsung Galaxy NoteGalaxy Note's 2500mAh battery reportedly provides up to 820 hours of standby. It also provides about 13 hours of talk time, but just 3.5 hours of web browsing and 8.5 hours of video playback, according to the report. 


Samsung Galaxy Note runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, sports a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen and comes with a capacitive stylus called S Pen. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. 


There's an 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera. The smartphone comprises 16GB internal memory, expandable upto 32GB with a microSD card slot.

Running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, Neo V features a 5 megapixel camera, 16x digital zoom, auto focus, face detection and video recording feature. For connectivity, the phone includes 3.5 mm audio jack, a GPS, Bluetooth, DLNA, Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0.
